About Us
The Columbus Jazz Alliance is a 501c(3) non-profit organization whose members are musicians and non-musicians, essentially art and jazz music enthusiasts that enjoy jazz and are interested in promoting jazz performance and education.
Columbus Jazz Alliance's goal is to contribute scholarship funds to local music education institutions, and help pay for instruments, supplies, lessons, instrument repairs, student courses or student concerts and to help keep jazz on the radio.
Columbus Jazz Alliance is an organization dedicated to diversity and inclusiveness. In order for there to be a vibrant jazz music entertainment community, performance opportunities and equal access to these opportunities must exist and should not be controlled by any one entity or group.
The ability to perform at all types of events will permit all musicians the ability to grow and develop. In effect, Columbus Jazz Alliance was organized to help break down the walls of exclusivity in which a few musicians and groups perform at a majority of the events, thus opening the playing field for all.
Equally, it has long been our goal to help educate the Central Ohio community by providing education and support to our school age musicians, return music programs and related arts programs to our schools. Our mission includes encouraging and supporting professional musicians, student musicians, venues and jazz enthusiasts by presenting and promoting camps, master classes, concerts and informal social gatherings, all in an effort to nurture and develop a better understanding and appreciation of and for jazz, past and present.
